Every year Chick Fil A dedicates a night to fathers so they can spend a day with their daughters. This particular event is called Daddy Daughter Date Night and is held in the afternoon. I had the opportunity to take part of this event over the weekend. The theme this year for Date Night was Hawaiian, and I was super excited. All of my coworkers bought cool Hawaiian shirts because that night we were going to be the waitresses and waiters for the event. The dining room area was going to be decorated with white table cloths, daddy daughter questionnaire, coloring books, and Hawaiian props. There was also a mini photo booth area with a Hawaiian theme wallpaper so that pictures can be taken to capture this special night. We were fortunate to be able to bring a Moana character in honor of the new movie Moana that came out in theaters. I was very nervous and excited because this was my first time being a “waitress” for this event and I was worried that I wouldn’t do a great job. All of us were assigned three tables to tend to for the whole night. When the guests arrived, we escorted them to their table. We had to give them the menu, take their orders on a little personal notepad, take their payment method, ring it up on the register up front, bring them the drinks and other necessary utensils, bring straws and sauces while having two more tables filled up waiting for their orders to be taken. Now imagine this but 10x times crazier because I was not the only one feeling this way. Five other people were having to accomplish the same task and felt the same pressure to make sure everything was perfect. To top it all of I forgot my nametag and had to borrow a good friend of mines, Jane. So the whole night I wasn’t Lulu, but Jane. There were times where people would call out Jane, and I wouldn’t turn until I realized they were trying to call me.
Apart from all the chaos that was going on, I enjoyed seeing the daughters have a great time with their fathers. Many of them had a great time doing the mini questionnaires with their fathers and take photos with the one and only Moana at the picture booth. I could see the smile on the daughter’s faces as they spent the night with their fathers and could see that this night meant more to them than anything in the world. I honestly would always see myself smiling as I looked around and saw all the little girls with their fathers laughing and having a great time. It was satisfying to know that we were able to make this night a night to remember for the daughters and I honestly would go through all the hectic moments to see the smile on those girls faces again. It meant so much for me to bring happiness and joy to the families that night and want to thank Chick Fil A for remembering the importance of a healthy relationship between a father and his daughter.
Very good story(also funny). It shows how chick fil A is different from other franchises
I love the daddy daughter dances because you get to see little girls enjoying themselves with their fathers.
