Many of us log on Facebook and casually scroll through our feeds until something catches our eye. Nine times out of ten it’s probably articles that you quickly glance at, share, and move on with your day. I am guilty of doing this same thing every once in a while. I am the most gullible person and will mostly believe any article; I find online because why would someone waste their time in publishing a fake article online for people to read. I am also guilty of not taking the time even to see who the author is let alone differentiating whether it’s real or fake. Many of my family and friends might even tag me in something that I will read and continue with my day. I realize that I’m not going do anything rash due to what I’ve read, but I am aware of the fact that I will be carrying false information. I might, later on, share the false information with someone and think I’m giving them accurate knowledge.
We might not think that this is something worth worrying about but imagine all the people in this world sharing false information that we preserve to be true. After reading an article about how college students and high school students believed more fake news provided to them than real news, I have to agree with the writers that many students tend to think most things they read online whether it looks real or fake. I honestly don’t look to see if the article is reliable or not like many other people. The article conducted many tests and concluded that many students aren’t aware of what fake news looks like compared to real news. It was shocking to read that some college students went as far as justifying the fake news appearing more real than fake. #JustThink
I like the way you put selfself as part of the problem and the correction.I am the same as you. But since I read the study, I have tried to be more cautious.
