The Third problem that is negatively affecting life on land is Fossil Fuels. Fossil Fuels are the leading energy source in today’s world. The three main fossil fuels are Oil, Natural Gas, and Coal. These resources are finite organic material that formed over million of years in the earth’s layers. However, these fossil fuels are responsible for damaging the earth’s environment. According the U.S. Energy Information Association, fossil fuels are responsible for 76% of the total greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases as we’ve previously discussed, have contributed to the catastrophic changes in the earth’s climate. This could damage habitats of animals, poison the air we humans and other organisms breathe, and pollute the oceans.
