Three- Dee ARMOR

For our Final/ fourth project in the Three- Dimensional Design course, the class was tasked with creating armor which is based around interrogative design. This means that the design of the armor has to bring attention to a current social issue which needs attention brought to it and to encourage social change. The topic I chose for my project was the division of success between children who lacked any way to easily access the internet, and those who can without any problems. The armor itself was made out of five different pieces, a mask, a book, a chest plate, a pole and a shield. The mask has bottlecaps blinding the eyes, which was meant to represent how children who can’t access the internet can’t see the school work they need in order to access their homework or schoolwork. The book is meant to represent school and knowledge in general, its large size is meant to illustrate the importance knowledge has on the success of the future generation. The chest plate is meant to represent homes that have easy access to the internet, whereas the shield is meant to represent homes that don’t have that access. Lastly, the pole is meant to evoke the image of a wifi tower and has wires connected to bottles attached to the back of the chest plate (homes with internet).
