The Hodgepodge prompt encouraged me to try working on drawings that I don’t feel comfortable doing. It was a great exercise to practice working on weaker areas of my drawings. I found reference portraits, and I focused on drawing the hair of each person. By only focusing on the hair, I had to try harder to make the drawings look reasonably accurate. I used charcoal and graphite for different contrast in the hair. It was more difficult than I thought it would be since I needed to time myself fifteen minutes per drawing.
