You can paraphrase the authors information in your own words so that the meaning of your source shows clarity in your passage. When you paraphrase it is important to change the words but to keep the meaning. this is important because it shows that the writer understands the source and makes them credible to write about it.
Quotation is another example of bringing out sources. Quotations use the exact words from the source. Use quotation marks around the quotation if the source is less than four lines long. Use a block quotation if the source is more than four lines from a printed source. block quotations are to be used only when all of that information is necessary. Indent entire quotation by 5 spaces on the left. Do not use quotation marks. it is important that you use these
Summarizing is the most familiar use of information, you use this by giving a brief statement of the source you acquired. It gives the reader a better understanding of the author’s work with out having to read through the material because you gave away the main points already.
