Additive Drawing + Quiet Piece

This project was when we had to pick one object that could match the theme: Quiet. We then had to make an Additive Drawing of the object we chose. Additive Drawing is when you draw or sketch continuously without the use of an eraser. For my Quiet Piece I chose a bag of Starbucks coffee grounds. The reason for this is because when you’re the first person up on the morning and you make a cup of coffee, you tend to have a nice and “quiet” start to your day as you sip from your coffee mug. The hardest part of making this piece was trying to add the letters because when I tried to outline them they came out bolded instead. I had to go off of a picture of the coffee grounds on my stove because at the time someone wanted to have a peaceful and quiet morning, and needed the bag back.

Additive Value Art of a Recycled Being Sculpture (art class)

Recycled Being
Drawing of Recycled Being

This project required us to make recycled still life’s out of whatever recycled materials we could find. We also had to make an Additive Drawing based on the recycled beings that we made. I wanted to make my recycled being be as wild as possibly could but still have some restraint when making it. I chose to use objects that would remind people of what my generation did when they were younger, They would eat peanut butter(Skippy Jar bottom left), ramen noodles(green bowl on the left), and strangely hot Cheetos(paper airplane on the right). I tried to draw my recycled being first before adding enough shading to make it look more 3D on paper. But afterwards it still looked the same except more darker than I wanted it to be. i then erased all of the shading and tried to add some different and more gentle shading where it needed to be and it came out as decent as I wanted it to be.
