1. justfacts.com
Currency-The website was started in 1997 and seems to be updated often. There are many different links with a plethora of information. There is also a link to justfactsdaily.com which has information posted daily.
Relevance-The information is very plentiful. Each subject has its own link that has even more sub links about that subject. The subject information is divided into bullet points that make it easy to read.
Authority-The site lists it’s primary researcher and president of board of directors and their qualifications. The only contact information is a tab where you can email the site and donate to it, which is how it is funded. There is a list of organizations that cited the site such as PBS, CBS, and several Universities.
Accuracy-The site is professional with no bias, just information. There are citations at the end of every fact posted. There are standards of credibility but I do not see a section for peer review.
Purpose-The mission statement of the site is to strictly provide unbiased information about many of the countries biggest issues. With the information, citizens can form their own opinion about these issues.
2. factcheck.org
Currency-New information is added daily with working links to each article. I do not see how long the site has been in operation but I think it is fairly new.
Relevance-The information is relevant to those searching for information about the upcoming presidential election and politics. However, it would be hard for someone new to politics to be able to process the information.
Authority-The site gives profiles of it’s creators and their credentials. There is an address, email address, and telephone number posted under the “contact us” tab. They also list the foundations that fund them.
Accuracy-I do not know enough about politics to judge the accuracy. However, I did some cross-referencing to make sure the writing was not biased because the articles are about politics, they seemed legit. The articles also have sources in the form of links attached to them.
Purpose-The mission of the website is to make sure statements politicians make are accurate and to make sure the public has a better understanding of what the politicians really mean in their statements.
