Design & Purpose
Piedmont Park is located in downtown Atlanta on Piedmont Avenue. It is described as being an urban park with a size of roughly 185 acres. It holds the cities largest concerts and festivals and is known as one of the best known landmarks in Atlanta. This historical park can hold up to 4 million visitors a year. Piedmont Park got its start and design in 1989 by a group of citizens, who were renown members of business and leadership communities in the Atlanta area. Since its forming, Piedmont Park has had renovations and restorations projects making it into what it is today. To keep the park clean and beautiful, landscaping is done on a daily basis. The primary goal for the park is to ensure that this is a place that unifies the community and a place that reflects historical ground.
Piedmont Park Conservancy Mission Statement: To enhance and preserve Piedmont Park as a vital urban green space and as a cultural and recreational resource that enriches the quality of life for all Atlantans.
