Piedmont park is located in downtown Atlanta,Georgia on Piedmont avenue. This park is the largest of its kind in downtown Atlanta. Piedmont park has a variety of places inside of it such as a pool, playground, running trails, and the botanical gardens. The main focus I had while in Piedmont was the traffic flow in the area north of the botanical gardens entrance inside of the park.
Piedmont park on average has on average a minimum traffic flow during the week and gradually picks up near the weekend. The typical Tuesday afternoon consisted of dog owners, college students walking and holding various conversations , and workers setting up a stage and transporting drinks.Piedmont park is guided by trails through the park and also many paved out pathways to direct the traffic flow of people so it will not be as great on one than the other.
Piedmont as depicted above was having a particular get together among employees on break upon asking for permission to use the photo they preceded to explain how the park has been undergoing changes to keep a steady flow of people coming and enjoying the area. This is why certain parks of the park have been of limits as they expand and make better paved pathways to walk and bike on as most vehicles are not allowed in the park.
The park in the city receives a great amount of foot traffic during the weekend and late afternoon, whether you have two legs or four this place has an area for you.The photo to the left depicts how the city and park are incorporated into each other. It also attest for some traffic flow as it is the only park of its kind in the midtown area of Atlanta.
