To increase transparency, I have included two of my previous lectures here.
One is a shorter 20-minute sample lecture given at a teaching seminar class (20-minute sample lecture), while the other is a longer full lecture given at a developmental psychology course (full-length lecture). The activities in these lectures were aimed at getting the audience members and students to participate with the subject matter by placing themselves in a situation with difficult choices that involved both physical and social repercussions. In all classes that I’ve used these story-based activities, the responses have been overwhelmingly positive and there is no wrong solution to the issue, which allows the participants to come up with as many solutions as they want to the social dilemmas.
Additionally, clicking here will link you to a potential upcoming group assessment aimed at similarly having students interact with real-world situations in which they must use their classroom knowledge to provide a solution to misinformation regarding animal behavior by popular social media channels.
