WaterColor Atmospheric Perspective

This project was a bit of a challenge, but a good challenge. The placement of objects, and direction of the image plays an important role in the accuracy and quality of the artwork. Learning about orthogonal lines, horizon lines, vanishing points, and different perspectives was the key fundamental overview of this project.

We used croquil pen and ink, watercolor, and terracotta-colored pencils on colored paper, watercolor paper, and sketchbook paper. I first found what images I wanted to use, then I began to look for the vanishing points and horizon lines in each image. After finding the vanishing points, I began drawing lines from all directions to this point. After this was done, I used my own paper and started sketching. Don’t be intimidated by lines or geometry, because they are just lines.
