My name is Jaha Mujahid. I am a student at Georgia State University. This is my first year taking art classes in an art driven setting like this. I managed to produce some art work, some of which you’ll find on this website. I hope you enjoy!
This is one of the two self portraits I did while attending this class. This portrait was more of a collage that reminded me of paper mache. I used magazine paragraphs, newspaper articles, and sentences from books for my face construction. I used emboldened headings/titles for the eyebrows. The eyes are made from a black magazine article and a double spaced paper. In order to show the different areas of my face I used lighter shaded paper for the face area, which shows where the light may hit my face. The pink yarn and pink shading stretching across my neck is a hijab, a head covering along with a yellow under scarf. I hope by looking at my self portrait for this class you learned something about me!
