La Real Academia Española and their Response to Inclusive Language in Spanish

Did you know there is a governing body of the Spanish language?  This governing body, La Real Academia Española (RAE) is considered to be the ultimate authority with regards to the Spanish language.   The English language does not have such a governing body.  There is not one, recognized authority of the English language.

In recent years, people have commented that Spanish only offers masculine and feminine forms of adjectives and nouns.  In an effort to be more inclusive, many have used the term, “Latinx” instead of “Latino.”  The RAE does not recognize Latinx.  Below is the link to the RAE’s response to inclusive language in Spanish.
