Who I am

My Name is Jake McCartney. I am 25 years old and love everything about artistry and entertainment. My dream was to become an animator, but life had other plans, and I’m currently taking college courses to improve my skill set hopefully. Enjoy all there is to offer, for I seek to enter my audience into the world of my creation. I specialize in cartoony designs and illustrations and look forward to learning new techniques daily.

Self Portrait Collage

 This Self Portrait Collage was created using blue bits cut from magazines representing the head. the body was created from old cola boxes, and the hair and eye brows were made with sticky velcro pieces. 

Mansion

 This Mansion was created as a part of my 3 drawing project. the drawing was created on a grey toned paper and was colored with white black red and blue colored pencils. the drawing is shot in a one point perspective and was based off of an image that i found online. 

Elephant

 

 This Elephant was created using the materials found in my backyard. the huge rock is the head while the small rock is the trunk. the ears were made from large leaves, the eyes are pinecones and the trunks are sticks. 

 

Colorful Cityscape

This Colorful cityscape was created for my hero project. This was made using watercolor paper and watercolor pencils. The cityscape is shot from a two-point perspective, and the colors are made to represent a rainbow-like appeal. you will notice that this is the setting where my hero comic project takes place.  

Jake’s Hero Comic

    

This is a comic I did for my hero assignment. This is the story of my hero, who has telekinetic powers and is asked by a construction worker to move a crane that has stopped working. unfortunately for my hero, he screws up and does not hear the end of it from the angry construction worker. this piece was made using sketchbook paper, micro pens, and watercolor pencils.
