The negative space project is a project that involves just the outline of the object. There should be a lot of whit space being shown which is why it’s called negative space. The Project consist of items under the sink The goal of the project is to show the outline of the object and make it look close at possible to the silhouette as possible. I approach this project with a open mind. It’s not about the object itself but the space and shapes around the object. I notice when i tried to draw the object it would come out but if i draw the space around the object then the actual object seems to start to take form on the paper. I messed up on the first one and it was a lot of erasure because I wanted to get it as accurate as possible. The third time work like a charm. I was about to capture the negative space well without erasing as much because at that point drawing those items was muscle memory to me.
I learned during this project is scale. I’ve come to notice that I’m not good at working at a smaller scale. The Thumbnail sketches became to choir to me because I try to capture all those details in a little space. The scale and proportions are never right when I’m working on a smaller scale and I need to work on that more I learned a lot looking at my classmates work. The feedback that I got from my classmates was helpful too especially with explaining how i should draw the flowers in the middle of the the page. I was very pleased with the process of making this negative space drawing.
I feel like this project was a good beginner project. I’m use to painting and I don’t draw much. My goals for this was to get comfortable and drawing things as accurate as possible and I think I did a really good job at executing my goals. By the end of the project I was very comfortable with drawing. I think i did a good job at drawing things as accurate as possible.I hope to gain knowledge with project and hoped it would in a sense improve my skill in other art mediums besides painting.
