Some may have a common question to ask at this point- What is Psychology???
Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. The major three terms in the definition are highlighted. The origins of this study is said to be traced back to ancient Greece, 400-500 years B.C. Closer to this time, there were only two views seen in psychology. First, an American psychologist named William James discovered functionalism. Later on structuralism was discovered by a pioneer named Wilhelm Wundt. As time progressed, there became more and more information found on and around the idea of Psychology. An approach to psychology is a perspective accumulated by assumptions about human behavior. New approaches were developed about the functions of the body and why and how it does what it does. Those approaches were called biological, behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, humanistic, evolutionary, and sociocultural- The Seven Approaches to Psychology!
