Atl Beltline

The cultural event I decided to check out was the Atlanta Beltline, since the weather has been nice lately. I grew up in mainly conyers and go to atlanta every so often so sometimes it’s i forget how everything is paced there. Honestly the whole city is a cultural event!

The Beltline was a couple miles long with a big section of murals, there were some statues, and even these silver leaves from the ground.

First art I saw was little metal sculptures in the ground. They were small and cute. It seemed like the same robot but in motion. The sculptures capture movement in my opinion. One had a mask on and i thought it was the most clever thing i’ve seen but if the original artist put it on there during the pandemics beginning it would be monumental. It’s a genius way to tell people to mask up.

My favorite was the black lives matter mural. It was huge and really tells a story of trials and tribulation, but also positivity of this movement. The art tackles social issues and tells a story pretty much. There were murals behind a building  and they were beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s street art or not, but the colors were so vibrant and funky. They took up at least a quarter of the building. I love how it’s done by multiple artists and not just one style. It made me feel like everyone’s different and everyone point of view on art isn’t going to be the same as mine. One of my favorites was a dog painted on the side of a building and the paws were painted on the paws on the gate outside the building. Great Marketing! Overall the trail was nice and huge and the art was amazing. Highly recommend. I forgot to take a picture of me there but my shadow in some pictures haha it was a lot of walking and i was determined to make it to certain places.
