The famous question “why” came to mind when developing the idea for this gallery. Since that question started everything especially when it came to anything out of the ordinary. The theme for this project circled around curiosity or anything peculiar whether it was something that I found or even placed myself. My goal was to get people thinking and asking questions. Any question that came to mind, where was I when I took this picture, what time of day was it, what shutter speed was I on. Is there even supposed to be a theme behind this photograph or if even need one. Taking the idea of the unordinary and the question of why and putting them together leads to more theories and explanations which is what everyone should want. I want there to be something out of the ordinary it could either be one thing or even multiple. By showing something different out of the ordinary people will be able to ask more about it.
I followed the example of Gabriel Orozco who took photos of the normal but of what had seemed unusual. From it being something out of the blue or something that he orchestrated. He took the way we look at one ordinary thing to have a person interpret it into something else. Perception has a huge impact on our point of view and thinking. When we discern what we are able to see we come to hypothesis and curiosities that don’t even think of. Being able to do that really puts our minds to work.
