Explore varied drawing methods and materials to express the idea. Work the entire picture plane. Sketchbook work required to support larger drawings as given by instructor.

My Process
I started this process by making a list of totally daily necessary items, i.e., daily meds, skin care. Then I wondered into what in my life is really bringing me joy. A closer look led me to my immediate core family, my passion for art, travel an exploration and my love for the nature around me. I selected the following:
Passport = travel, Handmade Ceramics /paint brushes = Art, Silhouette of Daughter/Mug = Family, Heart shaped fall leaves = Nature
I was then tasked to make these items into 3 Cubists Type piee of art. True Cubists, Landscape and Monochromatic.
I selected Water Color Pencils, acrylic markers and conte’ crayons as my media. It really to help me in working smaller 9” x 12” with transferring my work to larger scale 22’ x 30’. Each piece was drawn and fully developed in my stretch book which made the transfer easier. In order to break the pitcher plane, I had to remember that during this time, cubist, they had cameras and what they were painting could not be seen by the eye of the camera.

What will I take with me:
The skill to transfer from small to larger pieces of art work. The use of water color pencils, monochromatic collage, acrylic markers and conte’ crayons. The process of experimenting with the media has eliminated two from my desired list. I will take each new skill will me to add to my tool box as an Artist.
