Historic Fourth Ward Park is a breath of fresh air in the middle of the busy city. Surrounding it is a large construction site mixing the sound of bulldozers scraping against red dirt with the high chirps of neighboring birds.

There are multiple entrances to the park, and each entrance is contrasting the next. Descending one of the multiple pairs of large stone steps the sound of running water becomes more and more audible. There is a waterfall that has been turned into three smaller ones that allow water to flow one onto the other until it reaches the dark olive colored water below. The high stone walls on the sides prevent splashing water from escaping. Water spills from four large rocks that vary in size onto a bed of rocks that then turn into the second waterfall. The third waterfall forms when water from the second waterfall is carried to descend onto the pebble filled water below. The collected water then travels under a bridge to merge with larger body at the center of the park.

Stone walls cover one side of concrete paths that are along the entirety of the park. Rails adorn the tops of these walls, protecting any passerby from taking a painful fall onto the solid stone below.

Dark colored buildings adorn the background of the park. Their glass windows being the only thing visible along the front and sides of the buildings. A thin cloud looms over the tall apartment homes. The stone walls are a mix of different shades of gray contrasting the concrete below. Patchy lawn covers the gap between concrete and another set of black railing. A towering black lamp post stands in the distance.

Flora and fauna can be seen along the ring of the pond. Multi-colored ducks chase children for their bread; their laughter rings across the pond mixing with the beating of wings and                                                                                                                                                                              splashing as the ducks land in the murky water. A child in a bright blue shirt gallops along a bridge in white sandals.                        Grass growing on side of pondElongated grass lives on the shoreline. The long branches of a tree lean over and spill fresh leaves onto the water. A duck paddles parallel to the green shrubs wading in the murky water. A silver rail blocks visitors from entering the water. Stone steps descend to concrete paths in the distance.

Yellow bulldozers align in the midst of a dirt filled construction site. Brick apartment homes incorporating opaque glass windows peak out. Birds sing a melodious tune without disturbance from the neighboring development. Trees align the side of the concrete pathway with even spaces in between them. A crane and electric pole reach the white and blue sky. An immense green lawn hosts the arena for a black shooed boy to play. Different shades and brands of cars align the curb and pavement between the construction zone and entrance to the park. A large black pick up truck can be seen as grey walls are seen once more.
