The Purpose and Plan

African American Museum Blog Post

“Another way for our HBCUs to shine”

The purpose of this lesson to me is another way to educate people about our Historically Black Colleges. I also think it is a great way to allow universities to raise funding and knowledge.

I will need to use a lot of pictures in order to form an interesting, fun blog. I cannot figure out how to edit and customize the blog post, so I definitely need a tutorial. Information about my choice of college will be needed as well.

I think my home page should be colorful, fun, and bright in order to introduce my lesson. When people come to a blog, they want pictures and fun information. I want my blog to be interesting and full of life/information.

When planning the lesson activity, it depends on the age of your students and their way of learning. For instance, I want to teach first grade. An appropriate lesson plan would be group work (children at this age enjoy being around their friends and expressing their opinion). Creating a picture book about what you learned and allow each group member to do a page. It’s easy, fun, and a way for the students to show what they learned.

The plan:

With all this great information on my blog, I think a local museum for children, teens, and young adults would change their perspective on college. Our children should be at our HBCUs changing the world, becoming successful, and educating others on HBCUs. It would be a great way to raise awareness, funding for schools, and knowledge.
