HBCUS MATTER

Historically Black Colleges and Universities have been the center of the Black struggle for equality and dignity. The American mindset idealizes education and achievement- except for African Americans. We have always been judged by the color of our skin, denied opportunities, and denied equal rights and education. It is not surprising that education has been one of the top struggles for African Americans. For African Americans, education is gaining equality, development, and citizenship. HBCUs play a major role in Black culture. I think they have improved the Black community life and prepared us for leadership in the world. Historically Black Colleges and Universities empower us to change lives, change the world, and our society.
