Hello, my name is Jada Allen my family is originally from the Caribbean, but we are now live in Georgia. I started learning art in elementary school, but after a while, I had to stop because my school didn’t allow us to have two extracurriculars, so I had to choose between band or art. After I quit band, I started to retake art classes in high school my freshman year. My experience in my first official art class was that it is way different from how I was teaching myself. I learned about shading, lines, the color wheel, complementary primary colors, and how to apply all this to your artwork and drawings.
My pathway was originally healthcare, but I changed it because my passion was in animation and art, so in my sophomore year, I decided to change it and continue to take those art classes. My plan for my future career is to get an internship at a company that helps me learn more about animation or any genre in animating characters. Right now, I am trying to start up my business online by selling my pictures and drawings, but if that doesn’t work, I’m thinking of getting a part-time or full-time job, depending on where I am at, to get enough money to feel stable enough to try and do it on my own. You can find some of my drawings on my Instagram page @nadira_artistpg; I post pictures and drawings on this page. I’m not a professional, so some of these will not look professional-grade, but I’m trying to get there. My hobbies are pretty much the same thing that I want to do for a living. I often draw random things that pop into my head from reference photos that I find online. I also like watching movies and TV shows. Sometimes I even watch anime or read manga. The TV shows I like to watch are NCIS, CSI. Or any black lifetime film or comedy I love mystery-murder.
