Project I. the compassion poster

Compassion Project

When learning about the project initially I was confused on how I'm supposed to illustrate compassion on a topic that I have no information on or had experienced. But while doing the project I learned a lot of things about different ways that you can show compassion the difference between empathy and sympathy. So this project meant to show a definition of compassion for BDD to a young adult audience to help them understand the effects it has on a person's mind and develop an image of what someone with BDD feels throughout the day.

My compassion project's main focus was body positive and the group I'm supporting or advertising for is body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). I found out that people suffering from BDD usually have symptoms on their faces. More than often, patients undergo plastic surgery to reconstruct their facial features more than their other attributes. This disorder happens in the mind and is treated with therapy. Some websites say that women suffer from BDD more than men, and others say they suffer from it equally. BDD is not a physical change in someone's outward appearance. The mental image that a person sees in a mirror or reflection makes them believe that their outward appearance is disturbing.
