Travel Award: Congratulations to IMSD Fellow Stacey Jones

Mr. Stacey Jones, a senior undergraduate researcher in Dr. Jun Yin’s lab, has received the 2017 ABRCMS traveling award.

The award will sponsor Stacey to go to the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in Phoenix, Arizona, November 1st – 4th, this year.

Stacey will present a poster with the title: “Probing the Mechanism of Ubiquitin Chain Assembly by E2 Enzymes using Unnatural Amino Acid Incorporation.” Han Zhou who is a graduate student in Dr. Jun Yin’s lab is Stacey’s mentor on this project.

Stacey is a chemistry major, and he has been doing research in Dr. Jun Yin’s lab since Spring, 2016. Numerous programs on campus have supported Stacey including:
