Hiring Process

Recruitment Process

  1. Contact IIT HR for consultation.
  2. Complete IIT Pre-Budget Approval Form.
  3. Complete a Position Review Form (PRF)– PRF should have been updated within three to five years.
  4. Submit approved PRF and Budget Form for the job to be posted.
  5. Draft and submit interview questions to be approved by the HR Coordinator and Central Talent.
  6. Review applications and consult with HR Coordinator to schedule interviews.
  7. Interview at least three qualified applicants per position.
  8. Request list of three to four professional references from the final candidate. At least one professional reference should be a current or previous supervisor.
  9. Select Final Candidate.

Final Candidate Selection- Next Steps

  1. Provide list of references to IIT-HR to conduct reference check.
  2. Submit interview evaluation forms to IIT-HR.
  3. Submit approved copy of approved IIT Budget Form and PRF for position that is being filled.
  4. Provide information on final candidate to IIT-HR.

    • Proposed start date (please begin at the beginning of pay period)
    • Salary
    • Speedtype
    • Primary Campus Location
    • Logistics (manager to IIT-HR)
    • First day Instructions (i.e. start time
    • Manager set up technology equipment
    • Submit Business Card Order to IIT-HR (optional)
    • Identify office location
    • Provide phone number
    • Request Building Access
  5. HR Coordinator will contact the selected candidate to extend a verbal offer.
