Three Drawings

Colored Pencil, Ink Wash, Water Color

This project centered around practicing drawing using perspective, as well as beginning to think about the locations we would want to set our next project in. One place I knew for sure I wanted to include in this and the next project was the pond from my backyard. This location feels very central to me as I have grown up always looking at it and going to sit by it when I wanted to stop for a minute and feel comforted. The other locations I did not have a very clear idea about, so I found images on the website unsplash.com for the other two drawings. In the colored pencil drawing, I was drawn to the look of dark wood being depicted through terracotta colored pencils, and for the other, I liked that it included more than one house and looked somewhat rustic. For the one and two point perspective drawings, I mapped out guidelines showing the vanishing point and lines of perspective in order to recreate them more accurately when drawing the pieces. For the atmospheric perspective, I payed close attention to what was close to the foreground in the image, and what was far away in the background.
