EPIC-CARES

With funding from The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Educating Psychologists in Innovative Care: Child and Adolescents Research and Empirical Services (EPIC-CARES) project strives to provide training to graduate students in the Georgia State Universities Clinical Psychology Program. In partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), Emory Brain Health Center (EBHC), Marcus Autism Center (MAC), and Virtually Better Inc. (VBI), EPIC-CARES trains doctoral psychology students to provide evidence-based; culturally sensitive; integrated, interdisciplinary, team-based; and tele-behavioral mental healthcare services to disadvantaged children and adolescents in high-need and high-demand areas.

Specifically, EPIC-CARES aims are to 1) conduct evidence-based practice with youth; 2) engage in culturally-sensitive practice; 3) provide integrated, interdisciplinary, team-based care; and 4) use tele-behavioral health to serve hard-to-reach populations.

The project is managed by Drs. Cohen (Project Director), Tully (Experiential Site Coordinator), Swartout (Project Evaluation Coordinator), and McKee. Learn more about EPIC-CARES leadership here.
