The Commencement Address Graduates Need to Hear, But Won’t

Art Sobczak established a successful sales training program that’s helped many reps develop their craft and reach their goals. Here is his take on some of the most valuable things a recent graduate, future sales rep, or potential entrepreneur should consider.  His words are more useful than seeing him speak, so if needed, put a mirror in front of your screen and just listen to what he has to say. ””😁

What is Inside Sales?

Sales jobs are often broadly grouped into 2 categories; inside sales and outside sales. Outside, or field sales jobs. typically involve meeting and making a sales presentation to a customer face-to-face at a location other than the sales rep’s main office. This could be at the customer’s office, their home, an event, etc.

In contrast, an inside sales job typically involves a rep contacting customers from the rep’s man place of business, either via phone, video, or a live showroom.

The American Association of Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP) is an international association dedicated exclusively to advancing the profession of Inside Sales. The association engages in research studies, organizational benchmarking and leadership round tables to better understand and analyze the trends, challenges, and key components of the growth and development of the Inside Sales industry. Our mission is to help inside sales representatives and leaders to leverage our information and resources through published content, local community chapters, national conferences, career development, and an Inside Sales accreditation program. The Atlanta Chapter of AA-ISP offers a series of events and resources to prospective sales professionals and students.

AA-ISP can be a great tool for your career journey. Click here to learn more about the Inside Sales Professionals organization, membership options, and upcoming professional events.

Is it crazy to think a sales class will help you reach your life and career goals?

You may hear the word “sales” and think “Sales is gross and isn’t for me. It’s all creepy used cars. working on commission, and selling junk to your friends” Well, you’re partly right. There are some lousy jobs in any field and you’re smart to think bigger.

But what if there’s a great side of sales you haven’t seen? What if you found basic sales skills are the ticket to your dream job, even if you never work a day in a sales role? What if you knew more than 6 in 10 college business grads get their first job in sales and use it as a career launchpad? What if you found sales jobs often come with a generous salary, the potential to make six figures or more, and tools you can use to start or lead your own business?

The Virus Ate My Sales Forecast

Professor Kent_Jones

Professor Kent Jones

As virus scares rattle market confidence, sales and marketing teams face a fearful buyer they haven’t seen since 2010 – if ever.

My take here on how they should respond as the ground shifts under them. I was lucky enough to start my sales career in a tanked economy. I didn’t know any different but I read every sales book I could find (aka “YouTube Unplugged”) and you learn pretty fast when the rent is due. It was all gravy after those years passed 😂😀
