GSU Team 2 Wins 3rd Place in Hack-A-Thon!

Our 2nd team for the Hack-A-Thon consisted of Mizaan, Paige, Chris, and Minh. They took home 3rd place in this year’s Hack-A-Thon. Team 1 did not place, but they had a wonderful idea and gained experience as well.

GSU Team 2 discussed their presentation with the judge after the results were announced.

GSU Team 2 won 3rd place in the Hack-A-Thon, with their app: Sankofa. They sought to tackle the lack of black teachers in the Kansas City area. Their app was made to encourage black teachers to teach in Kansas City by giving them a platform to monetize their classes to students outside or inside of their classes. Their reason for taking this approach was the lower wages of teachers in Kansas City. Their idea empowers black educators and is affordable for anyone looking to learn.
