Spirit of Detroit Statue

The NSBE convention was held in Detroit, MI this year. Detroit is most known for its automotive industry, serving as home to American staples like Ford and General Motors. It has a long history of remarkable engineering. We learned the city also once held the largest population of Black Americans before Atlanta took the crown.

Over the last 8 years, Detroit has been dedicated to rebuilding and growth. You can feel the spirit of hope everywhere. We talked to a few locals and were amazed by the work everyone is putting in to uplift Detroit’s reputation and to bring more opportunities to its citizens.
