The Graduate Instructional Technology Student Association (GrITS) is an organization for all students in the Instructional Technology program at Georgia State University. Whether you’re a master’s student, a doctoral student, or are pursuing a certificate, we’re here for you — and are planning a full slate of events to support your academic career.

Mission: This association is organized for the educational and professional purposes of advancing and advocating excellence in the Instructional Technology discipline.
Vision: Advance the science and work of Instructional Technology. Uphold and promote the integrity, ethics, and professionalism of the Instructional Technology. Promote the understanding of Instructional Technology and its place in corporate, non-profit, governmental, and P-12 and higher educational settings.
Core Values: Professional Development for members. Creating a community of practice and connection for current students and alumni. Promoting the GSU LS-IT program in a positive light in the industry. Achievement through collaboration on research, sharing and exploring new ideas as it pertains to Learning Sciences – Instructional Technology. Creating a wide net of professionals throughout the US and abroad that connect back to the GSU LS-IT program.
Members: GRITS has an open-door policy. There is no application or fees required to be a member. All that is needed is an interest in Instructional Technology and being registered as a GSU graduate student. Events and activities are meant to benefit graduate students in the Learning Sciences – Instructional Technology department.
The GRITS Promise: We want to consistently deliver distinctive elements to our members, introducing them to new products, research, conferences, internship and job opportunities, and professional development opportunities that will enhance their degree in the market. We are creating a network for professionals to be personally connected and can assist in strategic collaborations and engaging workshops while continuously taking the temperature of members in the GSU LSIT program and the learning technologies industry at large.
