Event Recap: Learning Sciences Orientation

— by Tia Forbes

HELLO GRITS Members!

We welcomed a new group of soon-to-be Instructional Technologists into the newly minted Learning Sciences Department. In attendance at this year’s Fall Orientation: Dr. Mike Law Program Academic Adviser, Instructional Design & Technology M.S. & Certificate Programs PhD Students: Charles Edgar Hampton and Tia Forbes. Master Students: Beth Grella, Jennifer Rivers and Tomeika Evans.

Orientation creates a meeting of all the majors to discuss, financial aid, introduce students to advisors, meet other students who are also new to Georgia State University and Atlanta. There’s a lot to know and figure out before classes, assignments and life gets in the way!

Mainly there to answer questions and connect with the news students because we understand what it’s like to start school – again. GRITS and its members are always here to answer questions, connect and help push forward the deeper understanding of Learning Technologies and where it fits in the College of Education and Human Development and industry.

Whether you are in your first year or last year, of the program, never be afraid to ask questions and connect. We’re here! Join the team and be a part of making the student experience better for the next incoming group of graduate and certificate students. Add us on Facebook, subscribe to the newsletter and come to the events where there is always a friendly face.
