Grey Matters is a national scientific journal created completely by students. It provides students with terrific new opportunities to use their skills and knowledge in creative ways. Grey Matters also demonstrates the work ethic, motivation, and collaborative nature of all the students who contribute.
Everyone on our team works together to manage our organization and produce a high-quality, accessible, and easily comprehendible edition of our journal every semester. Our goal is to break down barriers to access quality neuroscience education while teaching undergraduates how to read, understand, and synthesize primary neuroscientific literature. Students develop skills in scientific communication while honing their creativity, whether through writing, art, design, or a combination. In addition, undergraduates learn mentorship, teamwork, and leadership skills.
