and Engage Students in Global Learning Experiences

List of Activities

  1. Read
    • and discuss a novel or short story by an international author.

  2. sample
    • International food in class.

  3. invite
      • a guest speaker to discuss political, social, and/or cultural issues about another state, ethnic nation, or indigenous peoples.

  4. familiarize
    • students with world geography by doing online participatory activities. Have students do basic research on different regions of the world. Then have students post maps or pictures online for their classmates to view and comment upon.

  5. attend

  7. hold
    • weekly “newsworthy” chats in class by having students introduce, share and discuss global news stories.

  8. engage
    • students in Global Engagement Icebreaker activities to explore the diversity in the classroom. For example, What’s your bucket list of place you’d like to travel to? What’s the story of your name? Introduce yourself in your partner’s native language.

  9. follow
    • an international podcast throughout the semester.
