Black ink pen and India ink wash on mixed media paper, 9”x12”
Project V focused on the importance of one-point perspective and how to use it in daily scenes. I chose narrow viewpoints around my house, like hallways and rectangular rooms. Perspective has always been something I enjoyed capturing in my work, and I believe it is a factor that can make an art piece great when applied well. This project was another chance to practice this belief. The ink wash of my kitchen hallway and kitchen was a fun exercise and final piece of something that I looked at every day. It challenged my perception of familiar details and how I glossed over important part of my house. I enjoyed making the simple but elegant piece, and appreciate the methods of using perspective to create the world I see on a piece of paper.
