A Swirling Maelstrom

This particular piece is a most recent project, with more pictures to go along with it soon. We were blindfolded and told to draw to music. As the different songs came on or changed, we would have chances to erase, move pieces of the artwork, erase whole sections, etc. In the end, we were able to create a surreal piece of art. The final product of in-class work turned out like this for me.

The skull/head in the right side came about naturally after a section of charcoal formed into a blob that appeared to wrap around the page like a tail. After carving it out, and feeling how it could form, I was able to create a massive planet eating creature from random marks.
