The compassion project 1 was a project meant to have us feel or allow others to feel compassion for a group through our artistic abilities. It’s a project made to help not only a group but, ourselves to see that our art can be used as a tool to express a feeling we have. In this project, we are told to design our posters using collage, and canva. We have to incorporate collage elements such as magazine, picture or, drawing cutouts. After this, we add this collage art piece to canva and create a poster with a headline and, website based on our subject or audience.
For this project, I first had a conversation in the zoom meeting for class with my professor and, another classmate. This made me realize what I wanted my poster to be about. While talking in class we practiced divergent thinking. This helped me realize the problem was often miscommunication. So after noticing this I sat back and asked myself how I’d visualize self-harm. I made a quick sketch I thought represented my subject well. After this, I went out and bought 4 magazines. They had elements I used for the first draft of my poster. After I saw that I needed more types of pieces I went out again and bought 3 more magazines and, glue(to incorporate glitter). After this, I conducted my interviews to see if there was anything else I was missing in my poster. After this, the final step was my class review. My class had already seen my draft but, this was the final poster review.
