On December 26, 1996 Patsy Ramsey, the mother of a then six year old girl, JonBenet, called the police saying that she had found a three page ransom note asking for $118,000 in exchange for JonBenet’s life. The police showed up on the scene to begin investigating only to find JonBenet’s body in the basement. Biography reports that when her body was discovered there were signs of her skull had been fractured, and she had been strangled with a garrote made out of a paint brush that belonged to Patsy Ramsey (Biography, JonBenet Ramsey). This case is shrouded in mystery due to the fact that no serious suspects have ever been identified and it is widely accepted that the Ramsey family was somehow involved. The most likely scenario as to what happened to JonBenet Ramsey based on fibers collected by the police on the scene and the ransom note left behind is that Patsy Ramsey was involved in the crime.
