- 08/17/2024, lab members attended the “Unforgettable,” co-hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter to recruit study participants.
- 08/06/2024, Wendy, as one of the eight finalists, participated in the Three-Minute Thesis competition and presented her dissertation work, titled “Effects of body adipose distribution on fall risk among older adults with obesity” at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics in Madison, WI. Unsurprisingly, she won the People’s Choice Award. We are very proud of your extraordinary accomplishment, Wendy!

- 04/25/2024, Wendy received the 2024 American Society of Biomechanics Graduate Student Grant-in-Aid Award. This highly-competitive one-year award will support her dissertation project to investigate how body composition affects fall risk in older adults. Congratulations, Wendy! - 03/27/2024, Caroline won the first place of the 2024 GSU Three-minute Thesis Competition. Another remarkable achievement for Dr. Simpkins in just one week! Congratulations!

- 12/14/2023, Becky was awarded the competitive FY2024 GSU Dissertation Grant, which will support the successful execution of her dissertation project. An excellent holiday gift for Becky. Our group has received this grant for three years in a row. We should be proud of ourselves!
- 10/30-11/02/2023, lab members (Sara and Rebekah) attended the 100th Annual Conference of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Sara presented her work, titled "Fall prevalence in older adults with Alzheimer’s disease: A meta-analysis" as an oral presentation. Congratulations to all!
