Despite the overwhelming evidence and logic for the abduction theory some believe that Asha Degree ran away from home. The strongest claim is that she ran away from home due to the loss of an important basketball game. But how important was this basketball to her. It is known that Asha Degree was a star player on the team. This brings the assumption that she has a lot on her shoulders to prove herself. Therefore, when she was fouled out of the game and lost she was upset (Charley Project). The Charley Project reported that her family said that she was upset. But this doesn’t point to her wanting to run away from home. The Charley Project later reported that Asha’s mother stated that she eventually got over the game loss within a few hours and showed no signs of continued depression from it. The reason for the hype around the basketball game is due to the lack of reasoning for the theory that she ran away. In any other case, a lost in a basketball game would simply not matter as much. This basketball game gives enthusiasts something to go off on even though in a typical case it would not be an important factor.
