A space that I particularly enjoy is Ikea. It’s a huge furniture

Getting out of my friend’s car, I’m hit by the heat of the pavement  and the hot air that still lingers from the hot summer day. As we make our way to the automated doors that lead into Lennox.There’s an ever so faint sound of music, and strangely also money in the air.Making our way down the stores lined up side by side, we make our way to Urban Outfitters. Having never been there before, I was stunned by the layout and design of the store, but more so than the store, the wandering teenagers, and adults that were the center of my attention. Ranging from girls coming out from school dressed in school uniform to punked out patrons looking at the novelty items and clothing on display I couldn’t help say that this feels like Atlanta crammed into one place. After standing star struck, I decided that I could afford nothing within the store and could only stare at the happy customers leaving the store, and thought to myself , ” must be nice “.

The occupants that occupy this space are called customers. Lenox Square in Atlanta, Georgia is one of the most known mall in the world. Celebrities and rich people come in and out of the mall, which draws a lot of attention. The customers occupy this space, so that they can spend their hard earned money on brand new clothes. Lenox influences people to spend there money on products that are being sold by the store of your choice. Also, Lenox gives a variety of places where people can eat, interact with others, phone companies, new products that come out,a apple store, windows store, and different clothing stores that other malls don’t have. Lenox Square Mall is a beautiful place to go to.

When you open the doors at Chick-Fil-A, many things strike you the moment you step foot into the establishment.  Greetings from the employees, the scent of Chicken roaming the restaurant, and a pleasant atmosphere all around. It is a place suitable for anybody whether you’re hanging with our friends, out with the family, or want to get work done it fits everyone’s needs. You can just enjoy your meal and relax or do your work with the free Wi-Fi. It all starts at the counter you’re greeted with a soft, warm welcome and are listen too, the employees highly value its customers wanting to make you feel at home; provide you with food and treatment that will make you come back for more. The friendly environment never keeps you silent; you engage in conversations and could make friends. The anger and worries are left at the door, and you enter a welcoming environment.

As I look around this room a.k.a. my oasis, I can’t help but to enjoy the thought of being able to clearly hear my thoughts. There is no yelling, no screaming, and no nonsense. It’s just me. Just as I am. I occupy this space for clarity, peace, and rest. I simply occupy this space to escape the world. I value this space because some don’t have a space to call their own. A space where they can unwind. Therefore, it is important to me that I have this space so I can function well. This space determines whether I’m happy towards the world or angry at it. This space simply determines everything.

As they enter, customers are immediately overwhelmed by the sweet aroma of coffee. Usually, they are not alone. They come in groups of three, sometimes six, despite the limited space there is. The occupants who come to this coffee shop do not rush out the door after receiving their drinks. Instead, they search the room for empty seat, because this is not a grab and go place. This is a place to talk and relax over a fancy decorated coffee. As they sit in their groups, you will recognize the similarity they all share in an instant. Not just in one particular group, but in most groups; they are in the same ethnicity: Korean. The reasoning behind this is pointed towards the staff, including the owner. They are all Korean. For the customers, it is more comfortable for them to communicate with the staff in the language they know best. In addition, the menu is filled with drinks and desserts they are familiar with, such as shaved ice topped with red beans–a traditional korean dessert. The small space allows the customers to be closer together and therefore, they do not have to yell over each other even with the other occupants in the room.

The pungent aroma of freshly ground coffee hits your nose as approach the door. Their is a peaceful atmosphere set in place. You here the different sounds in the background, the barista grinding drinks, another calling the names for drinks and another taking orders. A particular type of person occupies this space rather it be a business men with a suit or a college student Starbucks targets a certain crowd. The mild mannered, and ones who appreciate a clean environment to work or just enjoy a nice cup of coffee. They value quality customer service, a friendly greeting at the door and pleasant people surrounding them as well. This is not a place you go to to purchase a dollar cup of of coffee. You rarely see a Starbucks in the hood because this is not the audience they target. They want to keep a peaceful and safe environment and certain areas where people are from would change the dynamic of the atmosphere they withhold. If you visit and the service is pleasant and the people are pleasant it adds to the positive vibes. If everyone is rude and ghetto the experience wont be the same and it brings negative vibes to the atmosphere. 

Michael Kors

Nicely dressed, has sense of fashion, and desires nice things are the usual occupants you would normally see in a Michael Kors Store. Michael Kors is a upscale luxury store that provides designer handbags, clothes and accessories to their customers. Many of their customers love this store because they can own luxury products. Well lit, merchandise neatly organized and on a pretty display is the atmosphere you get when you visit a Mk store. The store is upscale, giving off a feeling of luxury, it leads you to thinking that with owning their products you can live luxurious because if you want a luxury lifestyle you must own luxury things. The space influences their thinking in which they think owning MK products can give you a luxurious lifestyle. The occupant likes that and that is what they value, luxury.  They buy their products to look nice and present a demeanor of luxury to others.

Entering the doors of Dave and Busters, the anticipation begins to overwhelm me as I see people in front of me smiling and rushing to get in. I keep my power card held tight in my hand as I gaze at all the different games. While walking around the place, I become consumed with this undying smell of steaming hot pepperoni pizza. In front of me, I spot a teenager playing one of the basketball games here. Shot after shot, he becomes increasingly more proud of himself. Also, as I spot a group of people dancing and laughing, it makes me shake my head and laugh at them. While passing by the pool portion of the building, I spot a guy striking the ball and erupting with happiness as he wins the game. Flaring his arms like he just won the lottery, his friend begins to laugh uncontrollably and a grin begins to form on my face. Hearing the cheers of a group of people winning in one of the racing games sends chills down my spine. As the aroma of juicy hamburgers begin to grasp my attention, it begins to hit me. This is a really fun place to hang out and enjoy yourself. When me and my friends race each other in Mario Cart, all I see is huge smiles on their faces, followed by my own laughter at them for being so silly. This is an extremely fun place to enjoy yourself without question.  What makes this place so great is because you have endless games to play such as racing games. arcades games, even pool if you’re into that. After a long week at school or work, teens and adults should have a place to release any stress they have and take fun to a whole new level. Everybody wants to do something exciting and enjoyable at the end of the week and this place gets the job done. As you’re playing games with friends or different people, it reminds you just how fun life can be. Life isn’t easy for anybody, but a lot of people forget to enjoy life, so they go around angry at themselves or others. This is why it’s important to get out and hang with your friends to enjoy life and live it to the fullest in your terms. No one should have to go through life not enjoying it if you only get one chance at it. Dave and Busters influences people to be aware of themselves and remind them that they always have a place to hang out and enjoy life after a stressful week at work or school. This space controls the way they interact with the environment by reminding people to be open with themselves and interacting with others to enjoy living. In the end, Dave and Busters is one of the best places to go to interact with your friends and family and have endless amounts of fun and excitement.
