The Occupants of Lifetime
As people enter Lifetime Fitness, they’re greeted at the front desk with words of encouragement: “Have a great workout!” The people who occupy the space is an endless range from bodybuilders, powerlifters, marathon runners, and people that are just trying to better themselves, like me. Next, people go towards the locker room to drop off their stuff. Although the locker room reeks with sweat, the breath of air is relieving once inhaled because we feel the stress being lifted from our shoulders. Getting ready for their routine, most people empty their minds and then focus on their workout; their outside daily problems become so miniscule and meaningless. Occupants may go there to relieve stress, to maintain their health, or to train for competition. When the occupants exercise they go to their section, whether it may be the basketball court, the pool, the weight room, or the studio, they will have to wait till their space is available. Once they get into their zone, the hard part begins; even if they start sweating or tiring out, they must keep pushing forward. So this space does not only help the health of the occupants, but their overall well being too because they have to learn to be patient and perseverant. The people who go there expect to be covered in sweat and exhausted by the time they leave because of all the effort they put forth in their workout, and this can translate to our daily lives, putting all our effort in everything we do, being the best we can all the time.
Really descriptive! I liked the part where you go into detail how some of the occupants begin their workout routine.
