AR Art Convergence

All of a sudden you have arrived in another reality.  If you are asking yourself how you got there, it is with the advances in  modern technology, and with those advances came Augmented Reality. One individual has seen the transformative power of AR and decided to innovate. This person is the artist.

Adopting Augmented Reality (AR) technologies is what the next technological frontier looks like.  Our perception has been enhanced to help us see, hear, and feel our environments in new and enriching ways.  Artists have begun to utilize AR tech. to bring their art to life. Look no further than your pocket and you will find one of the most important and powerful tools at an artist’s disposal; the cell phone.

Many people have shown that AR can be a valuable aspect of any environment. With the use of apps that person typically points their cellular  device towards an object or site, in order to see superimposed content on the screen. The simpler apps seemed to give way to the more complex systems. Take for example what Adobe is  doing. Not wanting to miss an opportunity and ever eager to supply creatives with tools like Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Illustrator with hopes to advance the progress of AR artistry with Project Aero. “As every medium comes along, there is a period of time where the potential is obvious but the tools consume much time and become a distraction,” Parasnis Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer said to Cnet. “Aero is designed to ease the pain, so an AR artist doesn’t need to worry about learning programming technologies like Unity or Unreal”.

There are many new and exciting ways that technology will be applied within the field of art. The only question is will you play a hand in creating a more immersive future?
