Although my internship is technically ending regarding course credit, my supervisor at Park Pride has invited me to stay with them until the end of January 2025!
I’m really excited to continue working with Park Pride and my supervisors and hope to learn even more valuable information and skills. I’ve mentioned my new project in a previous post but I wanted to go more in detail of what that process looks like for me moving forward.
I will be working with the Community Services department to create a Friends of the Park (FOP) toolkit to help with providing information for “what to do” after being awarded funding from Park Pride. I think that this toolkit will be really useful for community leaders of the parks so that the transition will be as fluid as possible! I am scheduled to have a meeting with some of the Community Services department members to get more details about the actual work I’ll be doing, but from my understanding, I’ll be mostly making sure that the format of the toolkit makes sense and making sure the information is as legible/easy to read as it can be. I believe that by working on this toolkit, I’ll be able to hone my skills in editing and making information accessible for a wide array of readers and viewers.
I’m excited to work on this toolkit and hope that I will learn some useful skills in community outreach and communications for future work and projects.
