Last Few Weeks!

My last few weeks with Park Pride have been pretty slow regarding creating new material. However, I’ve still been busy with archiving the past fiscal year’s grant applications and other important material to make room for the new. I’ve really enjoyed my work with Park Pride so far and am sad to see it wrap up so fast even though I’ll continue working with them into the new year.

My supervisors have been so helpful in guiding me and looking at the next steps after I graduate. Kayla actually informed me of a really cool opportunity that I’ll be applying for through the National Park Conservation Association. The application is for being a part of the “Next Generation Advisory Council,” a group of young adults who “explore effective methods of engaging younger generations in national park advocacy and protection.” It seems like a really cool opportunity to work with parks on a larger scale than community and city parks.

I’ve really appreciated all the help and advice that my supervisors have given me while working with Park Pride because it gives me hope! It truly has been so inspiring to see so many people care and fight for the planet when there are times when it seems like no one cares at all. This internship has put me in a more positive mindset to fight the good fight even if my work seems insignificant in the moment, I now know that what I do (no matter how small) does have an impact.
