Considering that this project is drawing-based, I much preferred it over the first and ink projects. I had not seriously used conte before, but my results for my second portrait are ones that I like. The eye to the right looks realistic, and the hair is coming along with a “correct” texture, yet I fear that if I continue working on this piece i won’t look right. Getting conte crayon in blocks may prove itself useful, but they are not within my budget (so I’ will have to stick to getting conte pencils). The black paper and a lack of diversity in the colors in the conte I am using is making it harder to get my skin tone right. This assignment has been more fun than the last ones.
