Day 1: CNN

My name is Evan LeBlanc.

I’m twenty-three years old and I attend Georgia State University. I’m studying Journalism with a minor in Hospitality Administration and concentration in Public Relations. This summer I have decided to study abroad.

The study abroad program is named Global Business and Media.

Myself, along with a group of fantastic students will be traveling to Europe. We will be in the country of Italy exploring the cities of Florence, Milan, Pisa, and Venice. We depart on May 17th, 2016

Today, my classmates and I toured the world headquarters of CNN and spoke with a large number of employees that have worked there over the past many years. The speakers included topics such as finances, special events, marketing strategies, affiliate association, and internship opportunities. Because of this event, I have a further understanding of the intensive job roles that are involved on a day-t0-day basis of a CNN employee, regardless of the occupation.

For the remainder of this week, my classmates and I will be meeting with our professor that is leading this program to discuss further course materials and dive into the curriculum.
