The main objective for this project was to gain a better understanding of the possibilities of color through studying the effects of light on shapes in the development of volume and space, using variations in color, intensity, and value. Paul Cezanne was a French artist and post impressionist painter. He used short brush strokes, layering, and harsh lines. For our first project we had to mimic the techniques that Paul Cezanne incorporated into this artwork. We Used a still life and first layered out our objects and shapes with paint. From here I started laying down layers on layers of different colors that reflected and bounced off of each object. To really understand and grasp Cezanne style I first had to loosen up on my style and become more one with the paint letting the stroke of the brush due its job.
